The Problem

Why Refunds Go Unclaimed

Carrier agreements may allow refunds, but the process is layered with rules, proof requirements, and deadlines.

The Minute Rule

Miss a commitment time even by a single minute and an eligible time-definite service may qualify for a full shipping-cost refund under carrier terms.

If you miss the deadline, the money is gone.

Hidden Policies

Rules are buried across service terms and fine print, spread over claim portals and carrier-specific exceptions.

Unwritten Proof

Rejections are often about how the evidence was assembled, not whether the loss occurred.

We don't guess how to get a claim approved. We know, because we used to be the ones denying them.

FAQs

Everything you need to know

Common questions about ShipZen and carrier refund recovery.

ShipZen audits your carrier shipments and files eligible claims to recover money from service failures, lost or damaged packages, delivered-not-received issues, return-to-sender errors, and billing mistakes. We help recover both shipping cost and product value where applicable.
Most tools rely on automation only. ShipZen combines real-time audit automation with human claims experts who understand how carriers review, deny, and approve claims.
No. ShipZen works with your existing carrier accounts, negotiated rates, reps, and fulfillment workflow.
Setup is fast and low-lift. We securely connect to your existing carrier accounts and begin auditing eligible shipments without requiring your team to change how it ships.
ShipZen can support major parcel carriers such as UPS and FedEx, depending on your account setup, service types, and available claim paths.
We audit for late deliveries, lost packages, damaged goods, delivered-not-received cases, return-to-sender issues, duplicate charges, dimensional-weight errors, incorrect surcharges, and other recoverable billing mistakes.
Yes, when the claim type and carrier rules allow it. For late-delivery or service-guarantee claims, recovery usually applies to the shipping charge only. For lost or damaged shipments, ShipZen can pursue product-value recovery when the carrier allows it, but reimbursement depends on declared value, carrier liability limits, and proof such as invoice value, replacement cost, item details, photos, or customer documentation. For UPS and FedEx, the first $100 of shipment value is typically covered under standard liability. If the item is worth more than $100 but no higher declared value was added and paid for at the time of shipment, the carrier may limit product-value reimbursement to $100.
It depends on the carrier and claim type. Late-delivery refunds often have very short windows, while lost, damaged, and billing claims may allow longer windows. ShipZen prioritizes real-time filing so opportunities do not expire.
No. Eligible refunds and credits are part of carrier agreements and service policies. ShipZen files professionally and within the applicable rules.
A late-delivery waiver may limit service-guarantee refunds, but it usually does not eliminate other recovery categories such as lost packages, damage, duplicate charges, invoice errors, dimensional-weight mistakes, or certain surcharge disputes.
ShipZen uses success-based pricing. There are no upfront fees and no subscriptions. If we do not recover money, you do not pay us.
The carrier credits the full refund to your account. ShipZen invoices for 50% of the successfully recovered amount at the end of the month.
No. Refunds and credits go directly to your carrier account first. ShipZen invoices separately after the recovery is received.
You receive transparent reporting that shows what was recovered, where it came from, and the claim category behind each credit.
ShipZen uses secure carrier-account connections and only accesses the data needed to audit shipments, validate exceptions, and file claims. We do not sell customer data.
Very little. ShipZen runs in the background: monitoring shipments, flagging exceptions, preparing claims, filing eligible recoveries, and tracking outcomes.
When a valid claim is denied, ShipZen can review the reason, correct documentation gaps, and appeal or refile when the carrier rules allow it.
We start with a quick look at your shipping volume, carrier mix, service types, and biggest pain points. From there, ShipZen estimates recovery opportunities and confirms the best setup path.

Every eligible exception left unfiled is money left with the carrier.

Start with a free shipping audit. ShipZen will map the recovery opportunity against your actual carrier mix and shipment volume.
